Google pulled an April Fools Joke on everyone by naming Google ‘Topeka’ for the day on the 1st of April.

@marshan3q Topeka is vying to be the test site for Google’s high speed fiber network. Google was taking submissions from people to nominate their city and that’s why I made my video. As part of the efforts to get Google’s attention, the Mayor of Topeka issued a special proclamation renaming Topeka, Google for the month of March. In return, Google renamed itself, Topeka for April Fool’s Day.

it is not an april fools joke, they did it like last year, plus… this video was posted 3 months ago, it’s not an april fools joke. Also, the name change wasn’t like official, it was just to get there attention, the city is still called topeka, kansas.

  5. marshan3q says:

It was just like for a day or something, it is STILL CALLED TOPEKA, KANSAS.

  6. marshan3q says:

    Topeka is an awesome city.

Why the hell would they change it to “Topeka”. We’re all going to call it GOOGLE anyways so what’s the point? Even the mayor of Kansas thought it was a stupid name which is why he changed it in the first place.

@SpecialOpsM4 You do know that it’s an April fools joke, right?

@ipooponyou23 Thanks! Obviously, I made this before the name change… Perhaps you should consider a name change too, Ipooponyou23?

Were there 22 other people who actually had that name taken?

  11. ipooponyou23 says:

Good job! We are now called Google, Kansas
